THE SUBCONSCIOUS RESET — PART 2 OF 4

Most people give away two important moments every day without noticing:

The first hour after waking.

And the last hour before sleep.

In the morning, the phone comes first.

Messages. Headlines. Other people’s priorities.

Before you’ve chosen how you want to meet the day, the outside world has already chosen what receives your attention.

At night, it happens again.

One final scroll.
One more video.
One more problem to carry into bed.

Then you close your eyes and expect your mind to become quiet.

YOUR DAY HAS TWO BOOKENDS.

What you place between them becomes your life.

And what you repeatedly place at the edges can influence what your mind continues rehearsing.

That doesn’t mean you need a perfect 60-minute morning routine or an elaborate evening ritual.

Start with ten protected minutes on each side.

Before touching your phone in the morning, ask:
“How do I choose to meet today?”

Not what do I need to finish?

Not what is everyone expecting from me?

How do I choose to be?

Calm. Focused. Courageous. Present.

Then choose one sentence:
“Today, I will protect what matters before reacting to what is urgent.”

Before sleep, ask:
“What can I stop carrying now?”

Write down one worry you’re releasing.

Then name one thing you handled well today—even if it seemed small.

Because your mind doesn’t only need instructions.

It also needs evidence of who you’re becoming.

DON’T GIVE YOUR PHONE

THE FIRST AND LAST WORD.

You’re not trying to control every thought.

You’re simply becoming more intentional about which thoughts you repeatedly invite in.

Your Action Spark:

Tonight, protect the final ten minutes.

Tomorrow, protect the first ten.

No scrolling. No outside voices.

Just one honest question—and one consciously chosen thought.

Your inner world deserves to hear from you first.

P.S. Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today. Your attention and trust are what make this newsletter worth creating.

P.P.S. On Friday, we’ll look at why telling yourself “don’t overthink” still leaves your mind without the direction it actually needs.
