Here’s a dirty little secret no one talks about:
Potential feels incredible.
But it doesn’t change a single thing.
This morning, I opened a notebook I meant to fill weeks ago.
No notes.
No ideas.
Just a clean, untouched page staring back at me.
For a second, it felt… nice.
Light.
Full of possibility.
Nothing wrong yet.
Nothing ruined.
And then it hit me.
Potential without a starting line is just avoidance in disguise.
A blank page looks promising.
But it produces nothing.
Ideas don’t count until they’re written.
Plans don’t matter until they begin.
Dreams stay painless as long as they never meet reality.
The blank page protects you.
Because the moment you write something down,
a sentence,
a bullet,
a half-formed thought,
you give up perfect potential.
But you gain something far more dangerous:
momentum.
That’s why most people guard the empty page.
Because starting makes things real.
And real means:
Imperfect.
Visible.
Alive.
Once it’s real, you can’t hide behind “someday” anymore.
So let me ask you something, and stay with me here.
