For decades, psychology has asked one question:
"What's wrong with you?"
And it's built entire systems around answering it.
Anxiety. Trauma. Disorders. Patterns.
Diagnoses. Symptoms. Deficits. Dysfunctions.
All focused on identifying what's broken —
and trying to fix it.
For a long time, this made sense.
People were suffering. And healing that suffering mattered.
But something quiet started shifting in the last few years.
In 2026, a completely different question is taking center stage:
"What if you're not broken?"
"What if you don't need to be fixed —
you need to be allowed to flourish?"
This is the rise of Positive Psychology.
And it's changing everything about how people approach personal growth.
Here's the shift.
Old model: focus on the wound.
What happened to you.
What you're afraid of.
What's holding you back.
What needs to be healed before you can move.
New model: focus on the seed.
What's trying to grow inside you.
What energizes you.
What you'd do if fear wasn't in the picture.
What you're capable of when the conditions are right.
Both models see the human clearly.
But they ask very different questions.
And the questions you ask yourself
shape the answers you get from your life.
Here's why this matters:
You can spend 10 years "working on your issues"
and still not know what you actually want.
You can process every trauma
and still feel stuck.
You can journal about your childhood forever
and never move toward the future you're capable of.
Because fixing is not the same thing as flourishing.
One removes what's blocking you.
The other builds what's calling you forward.
And most people spend way too much time on the first —
and almost none on the second.
Think of it like a garden.
You can spend all your time pulling weeds.
And yes — the weeds need to be removed.
But if you never plant anything,
you're just left with empty soil.
A cleaner life.
Not a fuller one.
Flourishing means asking:
What do I want to grow here?
What needs sunlight?
What needs water?
What's the version of me that's trying to emerge —
that I've been too busy fixing to notice?
That's the real work.
Here's what nobody tells you about growth:
You are not a problem to be solved.
You are a potential to be expressed.
And the people who understand this
stop asking "what's wrong with me?"
and start asking "what's right with me —
and what am I doing with it?"
That single shift changes the energy of everything.
Because fixing energy feels heavy.
It drains you.
It keeps your attention on what's wrong.
Flourishing energy feels light.
It fuels you.
It keeps your attention on what's possible.
And here's the paradox:
When you stop obsessing over what's broken
and start focusing on what's trying to bloom —
the broken parts often heal on their own.
Because they were never the point.
So here's a practice to try this week.
Instead of asking:
"What's blocking me?"
Ask:
"What's trying to bloom in me right now —
and what small thing could I do this week to give it space?"
Maybe it's a creative idea you've been ignoring.
Maybe it's a version of your work you keep circling.
Maybe it's a relationship you keep wanting to deepen.
Maybe it's a truth about yourself you've been afraid to claim.
Don't try to fix anything.
Just give it a little water.
Because you don't need to be repaired
to grow.
You just need to be given room.
So here's my question for you:
What's trying to bloom in you right now —
that you've been too busy fixing yourself to notice?
Reply and tell me.
