You ever have one of those days where everything goes wrong?
I was standing in front of an elevator today, pressed the button, waited, waited some more…
And the elevator just stayed stuck on another floor.
Every few seconds the doors on that floor opened and closed again,
but mine?
Nothing.
No movement.
No progress.
People around me got annoyed.
Someone kept pressing the button harder (as if that ever helps).
Someone else sighed loudly.
And I caught myself doing what everyone else was doing:
Waiting.
Even though nothing was changing.
And that’s when it hit me:
Waiting doesn’t move you forward — action does.
We tell ourselves we’re “being patient,”
or “timing just isn’t right,”
or “I’ll start when things settle down.”
But sometimes the elevator you’re waiting for?
It’s not broken.
It’s just not coming for you.
And you’re meant to take the stairs.
Not because it’s harder, but because it gets you somewhere.
Waiting feels safe.
But climbing creates momentum.
So here’s my question for you:
Where have you been waiting… instead of climbing?
Reply and tell me, I genuinely want to hear.
