Two weeks ago, I sat down and did something uncomfortable.
I looked at the next 100 days.
Then the next year.
Really looked.
Not at what I hoped would happen.
But at what was actually possible.. given my time, my energy, and everything I had committed to.
And the math didn't add up.
I had too many projects.
Too many commitments.
And somewhere along the way.. my time for myself had quietly disappeared.
No more space to think.
No more mornings that felt like mine.
No more energy left at the end of the day for the things I actually wanted to build.
I was everywhere.
And because of that, I was nowhere.
So I made a decision.
I let one project go.
A project where my business partners had counted on me long-term.
A project I had said yes to.
A project I had committed to.
And that felt heavy.
The guilt showed up immediately.
"You gave your word."
"They're counting on you."
"Who are you to change your mind?"
For days, I sat with that weight.
But then I made a different choice.
Instead of pushing through the guilt, I chose honesty.
I had an open, authentic conversation.
I said exactly what was true for me.
No excuses. No performance.
Just the truth.
And something unexpected happened:
I could let it go with love.
Not with resentment.
Not with guilt.
Not with the feeling that I had failed someone.
But with lightness.
With clarity.
With peace.
Here's what that taught me:
Saying no to the wrong thing
is saying yes to the right one.
The time you invest in yourself
is never wasted time.
It's the most valuable investment you can make.
Because when you're aligned - really aligned -
you show up differently.
You move differently.
You create differently.
Not out of obligation.
But out of joy.
And that energy?
It touches everything around you.
You are allowed to change direction.
You are allowed to protect your time.
You are allowed to choose yourself, without guilt.
Authenticity isn't selfish.
It's the foundation of everything real you'll ever build.
So here's my question for you:
Is there something in your life right now that you're holding onto out of guilt, not because it still belongs in your future?
Reply and tell me.
I read every single reply.
