THE DECISION RESET — PART 3 OF 4

You decide what matters.

This is the project.
This is the direction.
This is where your energy will go.

Then a new idea appears.

It looks exciting.
Another opportunity arrives.
It feels too good to ignore.

And suddenly, you’re working on three different futures—
while none of them receives enough of you to become real.

KEEPING EVERY OPTION ALIVE FEELS LIKE FREEDOM.

You don’t have to miss out.
You don’t have to choose incorrectly.
You don’t have to close a door you may want later.

But every open possibility asks for three things:

Your attention.

Your time.

Your emotional energy.

The cost rarely feels significant in the moment.

It appears later—
when every project is moving,
but nothing is truly growing.

COMMITMENT HAS A HIDDEN PRICE.

A real yes changes what the other options are allowed to receive.

Yes to building one business means another idea must wait.
Yes to finishing the book means a new project stays unopened.
Yes to one direction means accepting that another could also have been good.

That discomfort doesn’t mean the decision is wrong.

It means the decision is becoming real.

Commitment begins while other possibilities are still attractive.

One of them simply receives authority.

Your Action Spark:

Create a three-part decision list:

  1. THIS GROWS NOW
Choose the one project that receives your best attention.

  2. NOT NOW
Move three competing ideas somewhere you can safely revisit them.

  3. REVIEW DATE
Choose the exact date when you will reconsider the list.

Until that date, stop reopening the decision.

A Not Now List gives future ideas a safe place while protecting your current priority from half-commitment.

You aren’t destroying possibilities.

You’re giving one of them enough room to become something.

Because your yes becomes powerful only when it changes where your energy goes.

Choose what grows.

Protect it from competition.

Stay long enough to see what it becomes.

P.P.S. On Saturday, we’ll complete the Decision Reset by turning one decision into a standard—so you no longer have to renegotiate it every day.
