THE DECISION RESET — PART 1 OF 4
You open the same note again.
The business idea you haven’t started.
The conversation you’ve been postponing.
The opportunity you haven’t accepted—but haven’t declined either.
You read everything.
Think about it.
Close the note.
And tell yourself:
”I’ll decide when I feel clearer.”
But the decision doesn’t disappear.
It follows you into the shower.
Interrupts your work.
Returns while you’re trying to sleep.
AN OPEN DECISION CREATES A BACKGROUND CONVERSATION.
Should I do it?
Should I wait?
What if I choose wrong?
Each time the question returns, you have to mentally reopen it.
Remember the options.
Reconsider the consequences.
And carry the uncertainty a little longer.
You keep paying for the same decision with your attention.
Sometimes we call this careful thinking.
But if no new information is being added, we aren’t moving closer to an answer.
We’re simply repeating the question.
INDECISION KEEPS CHARGING INTEREST.
Not every decision needs an immediate yes or no.
But every decision needs a status.
There are three:
DECIDE
You already have enough information. The decision is reversible. Choose and move.
SCHEDULE
You genuinely need more information or time. Decide exactly what you need and set a date for the final answer.
RELEASE
The decision no longer deserves your energy. Remove it from your mental world completely.
Your Action Spark:
Write down three decisions that have been following you.
Next to each one, write:
DECIDE. SCHEDULE. RELEASE.
Then close just one of them today.
Send the message.
Choose the option.
Set the date.
Or finally let it go.
CLOSURE CREATES SPACE FOR WHAT COMES NEXT.
Peace doesn’t always arrive because you found the perfect answer.
Sometimes it arrives because your mind finally knows what happens now.
Close one loop.
Then notice how much quieter your mind becomes.
