THE ONE-THING RESET — PART 1 OF 4

Burnout is usually pictured as working too many hours.

Late nights.
Endless meetings.
A calendar with no empty space.

But overload can begin much earlier—

when too many possible futures remain open at the same time.

I know this feeling.

You have several projects you want to build.
Each one excites you.
Each one feels important.

So you try to move all of them forward.

A little progress here.
A new idea there.
Another plan before the last one has had time to grow.

You’re constantly doing something—
but nothing receives enough of you to truly take off.

That’s when the frustration begins.

You assume you need better discipline.
More time.
A stricter routine.

But the problem isn’t always a lack of effort.

SOMETIMES YOUR ENERGY ISN’T LOW.

IT’S JUST DIVIDED INTO TOO MANY DIRECTIONS.

Every active project occupies more than the hours you spend working on it.

It creates decisions.
Open loops.
Unfinished promises.

A quiet sense of guilt whenever you work on something else.

Five projects don’t only require five blocks of time.

They ask your mind to keep five different futures alive.

And eventually, carrying all that possibility becomes heavier than doing the actual work.

YOU MAY HAVE ENOUGH ENERGY FOR ONE FUTURE—

BUT NOT ENOUGH TO BUILD FIVE AT ONCE.

This doesn’t mean you have to become less ambitious.

It doesn’t mean deleting every idea that matters to you.

It means recognizing that not every dream needs to be active in the same season.

Here’s today’s Action Spark:

Take a blank page and write down every project, goal and unfinished idea you’re currently carrying.

Include the ones you haven’t touched in weeks—but still feel guilty about.

Don’t organize them.
Don’t create another plan.

Just make the invisible weight visible.

Then ask yourself:
“Which projects are consuming my attention without receiving enough focus to grow?”

You don’t have to choose today.

On Wednesday, I’ll share a simple rule that helped me think about this differently:

The One Active Shelf Rule.

A way to choose what grows now—without feeling like you’re abandoning everything else.

Until then:
How many active projects did you discover?

Hit reply and send me the number.
I read every single one.
